My name is Phillip Peterson, I am a military service member in Tomah, Wisconsin. I’ve wanted to be part of USSA ever since my son Austin was diagnosed with a brain tumor and we made our first function. It was great to see so many people come together to help all those kids. I looked back at the time Austin and I were in Mayo hospital waiting for treatments even though he knew he was dying.  I remember this one child sitting with his father, Austin had made a bracelet and wanted to give it to this boy because he thought that he needed something to lift his spirit. After seeing this I know if more people had a ounce of his compassion this world would be a lot better off, that’s what I see in all of the USSA volunteers at all of the functions I’ve been at.
