 Ely Self has arthrogryposis, also known as Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, a rare congenital disorder that is characterized by multiple joint contractures which can include muscle weakness and fibrosis. Ely had countless surgeries and was told he would never be able to walk. But, he amazed everyone when he took his first step.
Ely said, "I can do most of anything, there's not a whole lot that slows me down. I've been hunting my whole life and living in North Georgia makes easy access to all the wildlife. I enjoy being in the outdoors and taking advantage of God's creation. The USSA is a spectacular organization with a great mission. I owe everything to God in my life and I try live life to it's fullest".
